Inspiration
Basically, a ladle should be a ladle and not anything else. The ladle was crafted without any first inspiration. The form follows the flow of the process with only a clear-cut mindset in mind, “Keep it simple”.
Material’s significance
Wood, being sustainable, was the most readily available material at all times. The beauty of wood lies in the grain patterns as each of them is unique from each other. The natural grain itself acts as the details for a simple object.
Functionality
As mentioned earlier on, it is a ladle and the functionality of it is to serve. The functionality should also be kept as simple as possible as not to complicate the initial intention of the form. Uniqueness Simplicity is the key to the form and it was crafted to be as organic as possible. It holds a combination of both convexity and concavity on both sides. A subtle convex detail on the handle intentionally made to reduce the visual bulkiness of the form and to act as a structural detail for the ladle.
